Admissions Overview

Thank you for your interest in Westbourne College (Singapore). We recognise that selecting the right school in Singapore for your child is one of the most important decisions you can make as a family, and our dedicated Admissions team is here to support and guide you every step of the way.

Our academic offerings include our elite British IB Diploma Programme, and our comprehensive 1 and 2 Year IGCSE courses with intakes available throughout the year. To maintain the exceptional quality of our personalised education and small class sizes, places in all programmes are limited, and we encourage early registration.

As part of our commitment to fostering a diverse and globally minded community, we welcome applications from Singapore Citizens, Singapore PRs, Dependent Pass holders, and Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) holders. Beyond academic achievements, we value the unique character, strengths, and potential of every candidate, taking a holistic approach to our admissions process.

Our application process is transparent, straightforward, and designed to help you make an informed decision with ease.

Application Process

Visit the School
- Schedule a personalised visit to learn more about our school, speak with our Admissions team, and meet the Principal.

Complete the Online Application
- Submit our simple application form with the following documents:
  - Student’s ID (Passport or NRIC).
  - 2 years of school reports.
  - Reference from the current school (to be completed prior to enrollment).

Testing and Interview with the Principal
- After reviewing your application, testings will be scheduled, covering:
  - Aptitude, English, and Math (each test will take no more than 1 hour)
- Following the tests, your child will have an interview with the Principal.

Offer Letter and Acceptance
- If successful, you will receive an Offer Letter with the admission details.
- Sign and return the Offer Letter to confirm your child’s place.

Student Contract and Invoice
- After accepting the offer, a Student Contract will be sent for your signature.
- An invoice for the tuition fees and the one-time enrolment fee will be issued upon signing of the contract.
- After payment, your child is officially enrolled and ready to start school.

Admissions Process FAQs

Who is eligible to apply?

We welcome Singapore Citizens, Singapore PRs, Dependent Pass holders, and Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) holders aged between 14-18 for our IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme.

We are currently unable to accept or sponsor International Students who do not hold the appropriate Singapore residency pass.

Admissions Criteria for the IB Diploma Programme

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 1

Academic Requirement: Completed Secondary School or equivalent education and completed 10 years of formal education. Student must have taken at least 4 subjects including English and Mathematics.
Language Requirement: Passing grade in English at year 10 level of Secondary school or equivalent.
Satisfactory completion of Westbourne College (Singapore)’s internal assessment:
- Aptitude, English, and Math (each test will take no more than 1 hour)
- Interview with Principal

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 2

Academic level requirement: Completed International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 1.
Subject selection for Year 2 must match subjects taken in Year 1.
Satisfactory completion of Westbourne College (Singapore)’s internal assessment:
- Aptitude, English, and Math (each test will take no more than 1 hour)
- Interview with Principal

Admissions Criteria for the IGCSE Programme

IGCSE Programme Year 1

Academic Requirement: Completed Year 8 of Secondary School (Secondary 2 in Singapore) or equivalent education and completed 8 years of formal education. Student must have taken at least 4 subjects including English and Mathematics.
Language Requirement: Passing grade in English at Year 8 level of Secondary school or equivalent.
Satisfactory completion of Westbourne College (Singapore)’s internal assessment:
- Aptitude, English, and Math (each test will take no more than 1 hour)
- Interview with Principal

IGCSE Programme Year 2

Academic Requirement: Completed Year 9 of Secondary School (Secondary 3 in Singapore) or equivalent education and completed 9 years of formal education. Student must have taken at least 4 subjects including English and Mathematics.
Language Requirement: Passing grade in English at Year 9 level of Secondary school or equivalent.
Satisfactory completion of Westbourne College (Singapore)’s internal assessment:
- Aptitude, English, and Math (each test will take no more than 1 hour)
- Interview with Principal

Are there entrance tests?

Yes, all students are required to undertake entrance tests. Please see below for the process:

Entrance testing:
- Aptitude
- English
- Maths
Students seeking a scholarship will be required to sit a further scholarship test.
Applicants will then be invited to an interview.

If required, all tests can be taken online via Zoom invigilation to fit around your schedule.

Is there an application deadline?

We do not have an application deadline, however places are limited.

We operate on a rolling admissions cycle, with places awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. As spots may fill well before the term begins, we encourage early application to avoid disappointment.

Is there an application or enrolment fee?

We do not charge an application fee. However, a one-time enrolment fee of S$2,000 is payable upon acceptance of an offer.

Yes, Westbourne College (Singapore) offers a range of academic scholarships from 10-40%, based on performance in scholarship tests and academic potential. Please visit our scholarships page for more information.
