Overview

The IB Diploma Programme aims to teach students to ask challenging questions in order to develop a wide and deep understanding and knowledge of the world around them. The IB curriculum cultivates community and life skills through the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) requirement, thinking skills through the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course, and writing skills through the Extended Essay (EE).

The IB structure of study allows students to choose three higher-level subjects and three standard-level subjects with six total subjects of study in the final two years of schooling. Although this 2-year course is rigorous, our students have continued to set the bar high and demonstrate academic excellence.

Student Preparation

The Diploma Programme prepares students for effective participation in a rapidly evolving and increasingly global society as they:

develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
acquire breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding, studying courses from six subject groups.
develop the skills and a positive attitude towards learning that will prepare them for higher education.
study at least two languages and increase understanding of cultures, including their own.
make connections across traditional academic disciplines and explore the nature of knowledge through the programme’s unique theory of knowledge course.
undertake in-depth research into an area of interest through the lens of one or more academic disciplines in the extended essay.
enhance their personal and interpersonal development through creativity, action and service.

Subjects

Students will be taking a 3 core subjects together with 6 subjects from 5 subject groups. This will give a total of 9 subjects for International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 1 and Year 2

Teacher Ratio

Teacher to Student ratio will be kept at 1 teacher to 20 students.

Admissions Criteria

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 1

The minimum age of admission for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 1 is 16 years old.

Academic Requirement: Completed Secondary School or equivalent education and completed at least 10 years of formal education. Student must have taken at least 4 subjects including English and Mathematics with a minimum passing grade of C for all 4 subjects.

Language Requirement: GCE ‘N’ level English minimum grade of A or equivalent or for those who do not meet the language requirement, they must complete the English Bridging Course.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 2

The minimum age of admission for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 2 is 17 years old.

Academic level requirement: Completed International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 1

Language requirement: GCE ‘N’ level English minimum grade of A or equivalent.

Graduation Criteria

Students will need to fulfil 95% of attendance requirement to be awarded the Certificate of completion for International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 1.

Students will need to fulfil 95% of attendance requirement to be awarded the Certificate of completion for International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 2.
